Day 1 - Anuradhapura

Arrive and transfer to the ancient city of Anuradhapura. As the first capital of the island, Anuradhapura is renowned for its well-preserved ruins and grand stupas dating back to the 3rd century BC. Explore the impressive brick and granite structures, including the sacred Sri Maha Bodhi tree, a revered symbol of Buddhism. The city’s complex network of reservoirs and ancient monasteries showcases its rich cultural heritage and architectural brilliance.

Day 2 - Jaffna

Visit Anuradhapura enroute to Jaffna. Anuradhapura is the 1^st historical capital of Sri Lanka and hidden away in dense jungle for many years is now accessible to see ruins of buildings and large stupas (pagodas) built with brick and granite, dating back to 3rd century

Day 3

Experience a comprehensive city tour of Jaffna. Begin with a visit to the renowned Nallur Hindu Temple, known for its intricate architecture and lively festivals. Explore the remnants of the 17th-century Dutch Fort, a historical landmark offering insights into Jaffna’s colonial past. Discover the Jaffna Library, which houses a vast collection of books and manuscripts. Wander through the bustling markets of Jaffna, where you can sample regional delicacies. In the afternoon, unwind at Casuarina Beach, known for its golden sands and tranquil waters.

Day 4

Visit the Naga Vihara Temple, located in an island close to Jaffna. The journey is done half through land and the rest by boat. In the afternoon you can visit the Kanthoradai Temple with pre-historic tombs, Keerimalee Temple and pond. Also visit Dambakolapatuna, the beach where the Sacred Bo Tree in India under which The Buddha attained enlightenment, currently the sacred Bo Tree in Anuradhapura was brought to Sri Lanka by ship from India

Day 5 - Trincomalee

Transfer to Trincomalee, one of the most famous beach destinations on the island’s East coast. En-route visit some of the key war sites from the 30-year-old civil war in the north and east of the country

Day 7

Explore Trincomalee city, begin by visiting Fort Frederick, a 17th-century Dutch fort offering panoramic views of the surrounding area. Inside the fort, you’ll find the Koneshwaram Hindu Temple, an ancient and revered site dedicated to Lord Shiva. Next, head to the Hot Springs in Kanniya, where you can relax in natural thermal waters believed to have therapeutic properties. Finally, explore China Bay, known for its beautiful coastal scenery and vibrant local atmosphere.

Day 8 - Habarana

Take a leisurely drive through scenic landscapes, allowing yourself to fully soak in the tranquil beauty of your surroundings. Upon arrival at your hotel, unwind and take advantage of the exceptional facilities available. Enjoy a relaxing swim in the pool, rejuvenate with a soothing spa treatment, or savor a delicious meal at the hotel’s renowned restaurant.

Day 9

Get on an early morning adventure to climb the majestic 5th-century Rock Fortress of Sigiriya. As you ascend this ancient marvel, you’ll be greeted by breathtaking views of the lush Sri Lankan landscape unfolding beneath you. Explore the fascinating frescoes, impressive water gardens, and the iconic Lion’s Gate. The cool morning air enhances your experience as you reach the summit, where panoramic vistas of the surrounding countryside await.

Day 10

Visit the ancient city of Polonnaruwa (UNESCO World Heritage site). Do a jeep safari at the Minneriya National Park in the afternoon to see large herds of wild elephants and many other wild animals

Day 11 - Kandy

Transfer to Kandy (UNESCO World Heritage City). On-rout visit a Spice Garden in Matale, a district famous for cultivation of spices in Sri Lanka such as pepper, cloves, nutmeg, cardamom etc. Visit the Temple of the Sacred Tooth of The Buddha in the evening

Day 12

Begin your day with a visit to the Royal Botanical Gardens, renowned for its expansive collection of tropical plants. Day 13 - Colombo
