Day 1 - Negombo

Arrival and transfer to Negombo and spend the day at leisure, allowing yourself to fully relax and immerse in the island’s serene and captivating natural beauty. Embrace the opportunity to unwind amid lush landscapes, tranquil beaches, or scenic vistas.

Transfer to Sigirya. Climb the 5th Century Rock Fortress of Sigiriya in the afternoon. On completion visit Polonnaruwa, the second historical capital of Sri Lanka with remains of many ancient buildings, reflecting aspects of Medieval Architecture from 10th century AD.

 

Enjoy and experience the lifestyle and culture in the countryside. You will get a chance to understand how hard they work to earn their livelihood and several works associated with day to day works of village life such as fishing, wood carving, bakery, farming, coconut tree climbing etc.

In the morning, embark on a scenic transfer to Kandy, with a visit to the Dambulla Cave Temple en route. In the afternoon, visit to the Temple of the Sacred Tooth Relic in Kandy. This revered temple houses the most significant relic in Sri Lanka.

In the afternoon, engage in the Kandy Street Food tour – 2 hours trail in Kandy city including visits to local eateries and street food outlets popular with the locals. In the afternoon, Head to the Elephant Transit Home, an essential conservation project dedicated to the care and rehabilitation of orphaned elephants. Then join a thrilling safari through Udawalawe National Park. 

In the afternoon, immerse yourself in the rich history and vibrant culture of Galle with a leisurely walk through its charming streets. Begin by exploring the historic colonial architecture of the Galle Fort. Experience the local culture by visiting vibrant markets and artisan shops, where you can find unique crafts and souvenirs.

In the morning, join the cooking class in Galle. Visit a local market and pick vegetables with your chef. Later cooking demonstration at local house and chef will teach you about Sri Lankan spices and how those help to change the curries into different taste. Enjoy rice and curry lunch. In the afternoon, transfer to Bentota.
